Hello.  Welcome to my new website.

Each month I shall be updating all visitors with what’s been going on.  This might be in my writing, workshops, or my views on present politics.

It will arrive on the site on the last Friday of each month.  

At present I am working hard with my agent, Paul Smith of Smith Scripts (https://www.smithscripts.co.uk/script_authors/dung_rod-dungate/) to place my two-hander play, The Old Queen’s Time, with a theatre or theatre company. It is a hard-hitting comedy, touching, too, and with a real feel-good factor ending.  You can find details on Smith Scripts.

I am also working with a composer on a new music theatre play.  It is hard work but collaborating with the composer is a great pleasure.  He understands the music in my lyrics, and I work hard to understand the poetry in his music.  He suggests inspired changes to the lyrics; and the end product is always better than the original.  So, developing this work is exciting.

I have just completed facilitating three Zoom workshops titled Craft & Chronicles for Birmingham LGBT (https://blgbt.org/), with South Asian LGBT people on aspects of Identity.  This has been fascinating; I have learned much.  The sessions will culminate in a permanent artwork; the work will be displayed in the Birmingham LGBT reception. Look forward to the launch event late in the year!
